Janice hails from Nova Scotia originally and has called Alberta home since 1980. From 1980 until 1998, she lived in Calgary and gained a wealth of experience spanning from inside sales through to that of a financial controller. Janice transitioned into the Camp Catering industry in 1998. She has worked in remote Rig and Pipeline camps as well as holding the role of Kitchen Manager for a 200 person open camp in Northern Alberta, for over 8 years.
Janice joined the R.E.A.L. team in December of 2011, where she has been instrumental in taking this lodge from the construction phase to the “open for business” phase. Janice holds the role General Manager at Red Earth Accommodations Ltd., which entails the oversight and coordination of every team member within the facility. It is her keen attention to detail, exceptional organization and understanding of what constitutes “REAL” customer service that has enabled her to build an outstanding team of leaders at REAL, all with the same vision of raising the bar and creating a lodging facility that aims to exceed the expectations of our guests…always.
Marlon Red Seal Chef with over 10 years of experience preparing a variety of food from open buffet style to high end dining. Marlon possesses a diverse knowledge on a variety of cuisine with a high standard of quality and innovation, transitioning from bakery into remote camps in Northern Alberta, over the course of his career. Marlon has worked in every position in the kitchen prior to taking his Red Seal Chef training, managing his kitchen team with the knowledge earned from hands on experience. Marlon holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) and a Business Administration certificate, this education is invaluable as an Executive Chef at REAL. Marlon has extensive training in Health & Safety which ensures all the REAL kitchen operations are within HACCP compliance. Marlon prepares and executes a high quality menu always, with REAL’s high standards and guest’s medical and special diet requirements in mind. He is an intricate part of our management team and leads his team with the REAL vision of raising the bar to exceed the expectations of our guests!
